John Headland, P.E.

John Headland is a Moffatt & Nichol Senior Vice President and firm practice leader for Coastal, Environment and Water Resources. He has specialized in the planning/design of port and coastal infrastructure for 32 years. Experience includes: coastal engineering, ecosystem restoration, port/harbor planning, dredging/land reclamation and coastal/estuarial modeling. He has completed projects in some 30 countries. Headland is a U.S. Commissioner and Western Hemisphere Vice President of the Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses (PIANC.) He is a member of the Marine Board of the National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Coastal Engineering Research Board.
