OBSERVING LOCAL SEA LEVEL VARIATIONS

In this project, we will use the basic equation

local sea level (LSL)= sea surface height (SSH) - land surface height (LSH)

and address the spatial and temporal variations in these three quantities, which lead to mis-fits if LSL, SSH, and LSH are measured at different locations. We will then also address the causes of the mis-fit, in particular, the contribution from air pressure, wind, and ocean circulation/sea surface topography.
